World Building for Fantasy Writers

World Building for Fantasy Writers will teach aspiring fantasy authors the techniques and skills necessary for creating vivid and believable fictional worlds. Participants of this course will learn to identify fantasy elements, craft a vivid setting, and create both social and magical structures.

Through the study of classic literature and written exercises, they will develop a deeper understanding of world-building techniques. An in-depth profile of their fictional world will take shape as they refine their ideas. Realistic characters, ear-catching dialogue, and heart-pounding conflicts will emerge through guided exercises. At the close of this class, a short story or scenes from a longer work set within their fictional world will be shared.
