Writing Symphony supports students of all ages and learning stages. Melody is a foundational course designed for kindergarten students, beginning English readers and writers, students learning English as a second language, and students who would benefit from additional support with early literacy skills.
Lessons introduce students to previewing source texts, identifying the main idea, selecting supporting details, building vocabulary, and developing early grammar and phonetic awareness. Weekly lessons provide intentional practice designed to strengthen reading comprehension, communication, and early writing skills while building confidence for future writing development.
Focus: Reading comprehension, vocabulary, phonetic awareness, main idea, supporting details, and early writing skills.
Program Structure
The Melody grade-level program includes eight modules, with four 30-minute lessons per module (32 lessons total). Classes are held online via Microsoft Teams, and students receive personalized instruction and feedback to support their early literacy and writing development.
