Creative Fiction Winter Camp

Grade Levels 2 - 8

Creative Fiction Winter Camp

Our Creative Fiction classes offer students the opportunity to think about vibrant characters and fantastical worlds and an opportunity to self-create and express thoughts on paper. We help students through a critical thinking practice that can overcome story writing challenges and offer skills that can be used long after our classes have been completed.  Join us in unleashing the power of imagination and turning words into stories.

Fables and Fairytales

Grade Level 2 - 3

Does your student enjoy making up their own stories? Do they have a vivid imagination? In this class, the students will learn how to write their own fable and how to write their own fantasy story.  They will explore the purpose of a moral, choose their main characters, and establish unique settings for their stories. They will be encouraged to expand their vocabulary and use sentence accents to write strong and memorable sentences.

Myths

Grade Level 4 - 5

Does your student love to read about superheroes? Do they love comic books? In this class, students will learn the origins of those stores and how to creatively produce one of their own. Students will explore the hero’s journey as well as the other important elements of a well-written story. They will be left with the skills to continue creating stories long after the camp is done.

Fantasy and Worldbuilding

Grade Level 6 - 8

Is your student interested in crafting stories and inventing characters? Are they eager to enhance their imaginative writing skills while learning the foundations of a well-written setting, conflict, and conflict resolution? These are needed skills when writing narrative essays in high school.
