Summer Camp FAQ
What to expect at a Writing Symphony Camp
What is your daily schedule?
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Campers may arrive as early as 8:30am for open play and instructor-led games during extended care. Please note that this is an additional charge.
9:30 AM Campers head to their academic classes and work with their instructors until lunchtime.
12 PM Half Day morning session ends. Full Day campers will enjoy lunch from 12 - 12:30 followed by our daily 21st Century Activity. Campers will learn about a different 21st Century Skill and practice with a group game or beat-the-clock challenge. We’ll have tons of fun while we put our collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills to the test.
1 PM Half Day and Full Day afternoon session starts. Students return to their academic classes until 3:15. Each day, we wrap up with a group discussion to reflect on campers’ learning outcomes and goals for the week.
3:30 PM Campers are picked-up or can opt for extended care until 5:00 PM.
What to bring
What should my child bring to camp?
Your child should come to camp with a notebook, pen and pencil. We’ll provide all necessary instructional materials. We also recommend sending your camper with a snack and water bottle each day. Campers may bring their own lunches or purchase one for $8/day.
How is lunch handled?
We encourage students to bring their own lunch. Campers will have access to a fridge, hot/cold filtered water and microwave for heating food. We also provide lunch for an additional fee of $8/day. If you purchase lunch, please make sure to let our staff know of any dietary restrictions. Cancellation & REFUND Policy
What if I need to cancel my camp?
Please be aware that once your camper has attended the first day of camp, we are unable to issue a refund. Cancellations made within 1 month of the camp start date will not receive a refund but we are always happy to reschedule your camp to another session during the summer. If you cancel the camp 1 month before the camp start date, we will take 3% credit card process fee and refund you the rest of it.
If Writing Symphony cancels a camp, you will receive a full refund.
