(Grades 3-5) Keys of Communication: Playing the Notes

Words, like notes, can be sharp or flat. The key to communication is to make each word count in a kind and powerful way. Vocabulary will be increased, and short speeches will be developed and practiced throughout this course.

Grades 3-5 course consists of 3 levels of learning with a focus on the following:

  • Empathy and Human Connection

  • Active Listening

  • Vocabulary and Word Use

The goal of this course is to counter bullying, and escalate kindness; raise awareness of others, and cultivate confidence. These objectives will be achieved through storytelling, prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, leadership responsibilities, feedback, and lessons in body language.

 
 
 

(Grades 6-8) Communication Cadence: Finding the Rhythm

Timing is everything, as they say. It’s true in communication as well. Giving measured feedback to others will be a focus of this course. Students will learn to bridge words with tempo, and keep time with their own messages.

Grades 6-8 course consists of 3 levels of learning with a focus on the following:

  • Vocal inflection and body language

  • Expressing personal views effectively

  • Storytelling and connection

The goal of this course is to empower a greater sense of self, and identify personal traits; discover inspiration and influence of others. These objectives will be achieved through family history research, storytelling, prepared speeches, impromptu speaking, leadership responsibilities, feedback, and lessons in emotional words, expression, and body language.

 
 

(Grades 9-12) Composing Communication: Putting Music to your Message

Music is a medley of notes, rhythm, varied rates and octaves. This course will include similar aspects of communication. Participants will become the maestro of their own unique message; a reprise of their own life experience.

Grades 9-12 course consists of 3 levels of learning with a focus on the following:

  • Chairmanship and inspiration

  • Purposeful communication

  • Core values and a motivational message

The goal of this course is to prepare participants for college and/or career opportunities, and craft a motivational speech unique to their values; discover core beliefs, and empower others by sharing them. These objectives will be achieved through discovery of who, what, and how they are, storytelling, motivational speeches, impromptu speaking, chairmanship, feedback and mentoring.
