Part I: Reading Text

Critical thinking through notetaking is an individualized process as each student must find the method that works best for them. Using the Writing Symphony methodology, students will learn how to identify critical information and organize class notes to retain knowledge and apply that knowledge to subsequent learning opportunities. This Summer Camp will furnish your student with systematic note-taking strategies that will improve academic performance and that will be useful for the rest of his or her life. Part I of this course focuses on outlining and note-taking from written materials.

Part II: Listening to Lecture

Using the Writing Symphony methodology, students will continue learning how to identify critical information and organize class notes to retain knowledge and apply that knowledge to subsequent learning opportunities. This Summer Camp will furnish your student with systematic note-taking strategies that will improve academic performance and that will be useful for the rest of his or her life. Part II of this course focuses on note-taking from lectures, class discussions, and group discussions. Part I must be completed prior to taking Part II.
